About Star Wars Legacy (for PrBOOM-Plus)
Star Wars Legacy is a story driven Total Conversion and possibly a iWAD replacement for any hardware or OS that has a port of PrBOOM-Plus, an enhanced DOOM source port. The focus of this project is to create a retro first person Star Wars adventure for the Amiga and Amiga related Operating Systems such as MorphOS and AROS. The only problem is that the Amiga OS's currently only have a port of PrBOOM, though time will of course correct this.

In the mean time, in order to stay true with the Amiga spirit, I am doing the majority of the graphical related work on Classic Amiga and MorphOS. Mapping of and pWad editing of course must take place under Windows as DOOM editing never became a huge success amongst the Amiga community. They were busy editing Worms Director's Cut. :)

I have imported the Dark Forces color palette but still need to work out color changes in relation to damage, item pick up, and so forth.  This of course meant that I had to rework every texture that I had previously created, and also means I have to redo the Sprites.  The good news is that I was not fully pleased with many of my original sprites, so I have recently purchased a Chroma Key and Genlock for my Amiga to hopefully allow me to digitize in sculpted images and or toys much like they did to create the old school shooters such as DOOM and Blood. My only hang up is that both my Amiga's are PAL and all my Video Hardware is NTSC. To remedy this situation I have ordered an Amiga 2000 (which I have a Video Toaster for anyhow) and an Amiga 1200 with 040. I figure one can be used for VJing, and one used for projects such as this, and low budget film projects.

To tell the story, I will be using BOOM's ability to use newly created animated textures, as well as PrBOOM-Plus' ability to use MP3's for the sound track. While it does not allow me to start or stop the MP3 at demand, there are other tricks I have been using to get around this limitation.

More to come in time, keep your eye's peeled.

'But you can't expect Jedi to stand by while ordinary people are hurt and killed-" said Master Windu.
"Exactly", said Depa Billaba,"That is why we cannot win: to win this war, we must no longer be Jedi.Like dropping a bomb into the arena on Geonosis: we can save the Republic, Mace. We can. But the cost will be our principles. In the end, isn't that what Jedi are for? We sacrifice everything for the Republic: our families, our homeworlds, our wealth, even our lives. Now the Republic needs us to sacrifice our consciences as well. Can we refuse? Are Jedi traditions more important than the lives of billions?"
